Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Appointed as Chief of the Army Staff

The Government of India has officially appointed Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, currently serving as the GOC-in-C of the Southern Command, as the next Chief of the Army Staff. He will assume his new command effective June 30, 2026, succeeding the current chief upon his retirement. Gen Seth brings over four decades of extensive command and staff experience to the role.
