To avail the benefits of the UP Bhagya Laxmi Yojana, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Domicile: The applicant family must be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Income Limit: The annual income of the family from all sources should not exceed ₹2 lakh.
  • BPL Category: The family must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
  • Girl Child's Birth Date: The girl child must have been born on or after March 31, 2006.
  • Family Size: The scheme is applicable for a maximum of two girl children per family.
  • Birth Registration: The birth of the girl child must be registered within one year of her birth.
  • Institutional Birth: The girl child's birth should have occurred in a government hospital or a registered private hospital.
  • Immunization: The girl child must have received proper immunization as per the government health department's program.
  • Marriage Age: The girl child should not be married before attaining the age of 18 years.
  • Education: The girl must be enrolled in a government educational institution for the educational benefits.
  • Exclusions: Government employees are not eligible for this scheme.
