To be eligible for the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Domicile: The girl child and her family must be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh. Proof of residence (Ration Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Electricity Bill, or Telephone Bill) is mandatory.
- Family Income: The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹3,00,000.
- Family Size: The benefits are limited to a maximum of two girl children per family.
- Exceptions for Twins: If a woman has twin girls during her second delivery, all three girls (one from the first delivery and two twins from the second) will be eligible. If the first delivery results in a girl child and the second delivery results in twin girls, all three girls will be eligible for the scheme.
- Birth Date: The girl child must have been born on or after April 1, 2019, to avail the full benefits of the scheme.
- Adopted Children: Adopted girl children are also eligible for the scheme, provided they meet other criteria and an adoption certificate is furnished.
- Registration Period: For the first phase (at birth), the application must be made within six months of the girl child's birth.
